HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE in the pictorial techniques used by Renaissance masters at the time of the Medici.

Painting with egg tempera on wood panels allows us to create colors with natural binders such as  egg yolk. This technique takes the painter back to the origins of an art which employs slow and harmonious gestures. 

4 hours Workshop

Hands-on experience in the pictorial techniques used by Renaissance masters at the time of the Medici.

6 hours Workshop + lunch

a day in the

artist's studio

3 hours of  tempera painting on wood in the morning plus 3 hours in the afternoon, with a lunch break(typical Tuscan cuisine accompanied by local Chianti Classico wine) on the terrace.

9 hours Workshop + lunch

I: An introductory to Renaissance Florence, the Medici family and  the art of Benozzo Gozzoli.   Participants will then draw a subject or their choice inspired by Florentine Renaissance masters.

II:   A 3-hour  morning session: painting with tempera on a wooden panel and pictorial techniques to depict a face, landscape, etc. Lunch break (Tuscan cuisine accompanied by local Chianti Classico wine).

III: A 3- hour afternoon session in which participants add the final touches to their  egg tempera paintings including the technique of gilding with pure gold leaf.
